The Unknown God in Athens

In Greece, Athens was a land of well known scholars.
Paul stood before the Areopagas and said,
“As I walked through your city and places of worship,
I found an altar in which it is written,
‘to the unknown God’.
I am here to teach you about that God,
who made the world and everything in it,
and he who is not far from us.
The God, who is with us, became one of us
and he was raised from the dead.
And that man is Jesus Christ.”
When they heard Paul,
some of them made fun of him,
but others believed and joined him.
