DNA is like a special code that makes every living thing unique.
Scientists have discovered that they can collect water, soil, or even air and look for these tiny pieces of DNA. This is called environmental DNA, or eDNA. It helps them find out which plants and animals live in an area, even if they cannot see them. Computers using Artificial Intelligence (AI) help scientists read millions of tiny DNA clues very quickly. This helps them discover rare animals, protect forests and oceans, and even spot problems like pollution before they become serious.
One of the most amazing things about eDNA is that it reminds us that every living thing matters. Even the tiniest fish, flower, or insect leaves a small sign that it was there. Together, these tiny signs tell the story of nature. Just as your footprints show where you have been, every kind act you do leaves a mark too.
