Sensing Together

“Existing before God, coram Deo, does not mean sensing God. Rather, the relationship of the human and God is most often accomplished as an affective non-experience. Conversely, participating in co-presence with God constitutes a “we”. No longer could one expect that this we is constituted purely as a “sen-sing together”… One can thus conclude about the logic of presentiment that when people gather together to pray more is going on than an adding up of individual experiences.”
