Q: Some of the Christian Churches in Kerala as well as elsewhere seems to be taking a side of the BJP. What are your feelings?
A: The BJP has a long term plan Hindu Rashtra, in a particular direction. The founder of RSS has a plan gradually somehow sideline all those who are not really Hindus. Now that plan slowly being implemented. First they have got into all the main offices and now they are dictating the whole administration; how it should go. My feeling is that slowly they will plough and interfere with the constitutions, because in the parliament they have the majority. Some of the Christian Church in Kerala is supporting the BJP rule. This is happening for the survival technique. Where there is a fear, it can affect the Church. Because, the Church has always taken a stand which is pacifying type. They are not so sympathetic. We may feel that they are concerned of dalits, minorities and tribals. Later they replace a kind of eligibility. They can tackle the policy and a kind of divition and rule is there. It is not easy to say directly what is happening. But there is a planned and gradual move towards Hindu Rashtra. So in that direction of Hindu Rashtra, all Hindus get all their rights and everything and they can live peacefully. The caste system is playing a big role. So it is not very easy to directly comment on these matters. A small minority’s confrontation is also detrimental. That’s why we are mostly stressing on the Constitution more than the human rights and human justice. The Constitution should not be disturbed. The constitution of India grants its citizens: the equality among all, fraternity, brotherhood, peace and harmony.
