Q: What have you to tell Catholics for this election?
A: Catholics must be vigilant and everybody must vote. They also have to vote prudently. The good of the nation is of paramount importance, its unity, progress, prosperity, social and religious amity etc. I wouldn’t say the party is more important than the candidate. Both are important, perhaps equally important. The Constitution of India defends the nation. We are a nation because of the Constitution. The people of the country and the constitution make the nation and so take the first priority. In the Constitution are enshrined certain very important values, which are Dharma for everybody. Along with those values and the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution, Dharma defines the country.
