On April 20, Pope Francis received in audi-ence the members of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its foundation. The Pope encouraged them to build together the civili-zation of encounter.
“The Church jour-neys through history, alongside the women and men of every time, and does not belong to any particular culture, but rather wishes to enliven, with the meek and courageous testi-mony of the Gospel, the heart of every cul-ture, so as to build to-gether the civilization of encounter. Instead, the temptations of self-absorbed individualism and the ideological affirmation of one’s own point of view fuel the incivility of con-frontation:” the Pope said.
