Give me the wisdom of thy Spirit, oh my Lord
I may choose the right alone in all my ways
Give me the courage to speak the Truth, oh my Lord
That my voice be the voice of a voiceless world.
Give me the strength to hold my lamp, oh my Lord
That can brighten the gloomy faces all around.
Pour out more oil of thy Love, oh my Lord
That I may fill up all the flickering lamps around.
Hold me up oh my Lord, on Thy shoulders
Lest I may falter in the muddy ways of the world.
