The First Martyr

Apostles appointed seven deacons to overlook sharing of food and other everyday matters. Stephen, a man full of faith was among them.

He performed great wonders. Jews began to argue with him but they could never win against his spirit filled wisdom.
So, they accused Stephen for blasphemy.

Stephen put up a powerful defense and concluded that the Sanhedrin, the great council of Jews, had murdered the promised Messiah,
Jesus of Nazareth.

The crowd became furious at this and they dragged him out of the city and stoned him.
Stephen looked up to heaven and said, “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.”
Stephen died and the other believers buried him.
