By now Paul had completed three and established church communities in all the nearby towns. Silas and Mark followed him in his missionary work.
In Philippi, there was a slave girl who had an evil spirit that helped her to predict the future.
Her owner earned in plenty with her. One day, she followed Paul, shouting out,
“These men are the servants of the Mighty God.”
Paul said to the spirit in her, “In the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to come out of her.”
The spirit left her that very moment. Her owners were very angry with this incident and so they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them to the authorities.
