Encountering God and World in Scriptures

READING : On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again. Then they remembered his words. (Luke 24:1-8).

REFLECTION : He is Risen! This triumphant cry resounds across the world, filling hearts with hope, joy, and the promise of harmony. In a world often shadowed by fear, division, and sorrow, the Resurrection reminds us that death and darkness do not have the final word. Hope dawns again with the empty tomb. Joy bursts forth because love has conquered all. Harmony becomes possible because the Risen Christ unites heaven and earth, and all people in peace. Easter season is a living invitation to rise with Christ into new life, renewed faith, and reconciled relationships.

Luke 24:5-6 : Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!

These words spoken to the women at the tomb speak directly to our hearts today. So often, we look for life in the wrong places—security in things, peace in control, joy in fleeting pleasures. But the angel’s message redirects our hearts: Look to the Risen One. The Resurrection calls us to a deep and lasting hope, not based on circumstances, but on the unshakable love of God. It invites us into a joy that the world cannot give or take away. And it urges us to be instruments of harmony, bringing reconciliation, forgiveness, and peace wherever we go.

PRAYER : Lord Jesus, You have triumphed over death and brought us the dawn of new life. In the light of Your Resurrection, fill our hearts with unwavering hope, especially when we walk through darkness and uncertainty. Let the joy of Easter rise within us—a joy that no sorrow can overshadow, a joy rooted in Your victory and abiding presence.

Make us instruments of harmony in our families, communities, and world. Where there is division, may we sow peace; where there is hurt, may we offer forgiveness; where there is silence, may we speak with love. Help us to seek You not among the dead things of this world, but in the living signs of grace all around us. May our lives proclaim: “He is not here, He is risen!” and may we live as Easter people every day. Amen

CONTEMPLATION : Sit quietly. Breathe slowly. Let your heart rest in the silence. Imagine the empty tomb. The stone rolled away. The women arrive in sorrow, expecting death. But instead, they hear a voice:“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen.” Let these words echo within you.

Where in your life are you still looking for life in lifeless places? Is it in old fears, disappointments, or regrets? Let the angel’s question touch that place gently.

He is risen. This is not just a truth to believe, but a life to receive.

Let hope stir in your soul—not as a wish, but as a certainty rooted in the love of the Risen One.

Let joy rise like the sun—quiet at first, then glowing, warming every part of you that felt cold or forgotten.

Let harmony begin within—between your past and your future, your weakness and your calling.

Let Christ gather the scattered pieces of your heart into peace. Now, listen: The tomb is empty.

Your burdens are not yours alone. Christ is alive—and so are you, in Him. Sit in this truth.

Let it become a prayer without words. And when you rise, rise with Him—bearing His light, His joy, His peace.

ACTION : Be a messenger of hope. Choose one person who may be struggling, lonely, or discouraged-and do something to lift their spirit.
