“Woe to me if I do not preach.’ This was the tormenting desire of St Paul in preaching the Word of God. It is evident from the Epistles of St Paul that he was an indefatigable preacher of the Word of God.
If you happened to meet Fr Lamu Jayaraj for sure you are going feel the same. Fr Lamu Jayaraj is a priest from the diocese of Vijayawada, in Andhra Pradesh. He is a passionate lover of Jesus and a staunch follower of St Paul in reaching the Word of God to the masses in and around Andhra and Telangana states. He is inflamed with the thirst to preach the word of God in his captivating spirit. He travels from village to village town to cities without minding the distance or comforts of life. Whenever we see him on mission to preach the Word of God we are reminded of the untiring missionary journeys by St Paul himself.
When someone asks him father why don’t you take some rest or stay in doors. He chuckles in his distinctive style and replies ‘whatever I have is the grace of God… I have nothing to boast about…’ He has completed 26 years in the ministry. I believe, there will not be a parish in the dioceses of Andhra and Telangana where he has not gone on his missionary journey. It’s a passion to watch him on the altar. When he’s on the altar he ceases to be simple Fr Jayaraj instead he’ll be like St Paul burning with the unquenchable Spirit in side out. While preaching the Spirit leads him to the realms of the mysteries of the Word of God and he preaches stupendously unmindful of the time. He spellbinds the masses both lettered and unlettered towards Jesus. His preaching style is powerful and eloquent.
He is a patient listener in his daily pastoral activities of the parish. I wonder may be the faithful find joy in speaking to him. We can see the Parish office is opened almost all through out the day. He is in his office listening to his parishners or settling their problems amicably. I think God has given him an enormous instinctive ability to solve the tribulations of the people harmoniously.
He goes to the interior villages almost every day. One may begin to feel surprise that father cannot sleep until he visit at least one of his substations every day.
He is also a renowned TV preacher. He delivers the Word of God through the medium of TV. He selects with paramount interest voracious themes from the Bible and dole out to his hearers with utmost devotion and veneration. He preaches the Word of God through the medium of TV on weekdays like Monday and Friday. Numerous people from all walks of life have witnessed his talks over the years and have received healing and graces from God. He is indeed a feather in the cap of Andhra Church. A Pandora box of God’s limitless blessings brought to the faithful through his unrelenting efforts and intereSt He is a unique personality, an extremely versatile person sent by God to the church in Andhra.
