Uniformity kills

  • Pope Francis, on 29 April, addressed the Canossian Sons of Charity (also known as Canossian Fathers) and the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel gathered for their respective General Chapters.

Noting that Mont-fort Brothers of St. Gabriel’s international makeup has enriched their institute, Pope Francis emphasized the importance of diversity as a “precious gift” to be shared: “Uniformity in a religious institute, in a diocese, or a lay group kill”, he remarked off-the-cuff. Instead, “diversity in harmony leads to growth.” “The One who creates harmony among diversities is the Holy Spirit, who is the Master of harmony” the Pope said.
